Did you know the word Diva comes from the Latin, meaning “Goddess”? My name is Bella, and I’ve been called a diva a lot in my life.
​
It wasn't until I discovered astrology and the ancient wisdom of the Feminine that I realized people had been accidentally paying me the highest of compliments my whole life.
It’s often been spat out like an insult. But through my songwriting and my study of astrology, I’ve come to reclaim my diva-ness, and I’ve realized that I like being someone who is expressive and sensitive and “too much.”
I like me. And if that makes me a diva, then so be it. (After all, I am a total theatre kid. Sharpay from High School Musical has been my idol since I was like six.)
​
I’ve been studying astrology for five years as of writing this, and it never fails to fascinate me. What started as a hobby has become an almost secret passion — something most people in my family and community would roll their eyes at. I kept it under wraps for a long time out of fear of being seen as crazy.
​
But, ironically, it was astrology itself and reading my own birth chart that helped me break free from the bondage of what other people think. (Connecting with my chart ruler 5th house Venus in Aquarius opposing my Leo Jupiter, for example!)
​
I love the way the stars speak to us through our birth charts. I love the logic of it, the way it makes sense to my mind, and the feeling of conveying the meaning I find in someone’s chart to them in the clearest possible way.
​
It actually reminds me of songwriting.
​
It reminds me of fitting words together like puzzle pieces in a rhyme scheme so that they click and suddenly hit a nerve or tap a tear duct or set off the most immense sense of liberation.
​
