Full Bio
Bella Frances is a theatrical country singer-songwriter whose old soul storytelling fuses emotional theatrics with intimate lyricism. Born in Toronto, she crafts “cabaret country” music — songs that speak to bold dreamers who believe feeling deeply is a sign of strength.
Born with severe anaphylaxis, Frances began channeling pain into poetry at age six, later transforming those words into songs. Her background in musical theatre gives her voice cinematic sweep — capable of matching the quiet vulnerability and soaring emotional heights of her songs.
In 2023 she teamed up with Juno-winning, Grammy-nominated producer Rob Szabo on her debut single “Magic,” followed by three more singles and her first EP She’ll Cross Oceans (2024). She’s directed her own music videos, and has been invited to perform at festivals and venues such as Folk Music Ontario, Sofar Toronto, Springtide, Roots North, and Toronto CityTV’s CMCTV Talent series. In winter 2024 she was named Emerging Artist of the Year in her hometown.
Frances is now preparing her debut full-length album — a diaristic new country record that blends theatrical storytelling, deeply personal lyricism, and emotional liberation.
"Her innate ability to craft poignant narratives through her music sets her apart as a true storyteller."
